How many of us loves to feel more important than others? The Bible says pride comes before a fall. Funny joke, my sister is so short, I would accidentally step on her sometimes. Hehe. Who has time to look down to see what is beneath me? How many times have we crushed someone’s self-esteem because we fail to look down? What do I mean by looking down? I mean not stopping to be mindful of someone else’s feelings. Treating another individual in a condescending way with no remorse or thought of their feelings. Vainglory is no glory. It’s an obvious void that is so deep and empty, that it shows outwardly. It’s not right to think you are better than other people when we are all equal in every shape and form. Exhibit A- I get more prophetic word than you. I know more about God than you. Blah Blah Blah. Arrogance. This is not the attitude of someone important. It’s the attitude of someone who is immature.
Pride can make us feel like a god. Any man that is against the hand of God digs his own grave. There is no way in anyone’s puny little mind should think they are bigger than the great God Almighty. Self-idolatry is so dangerous because it denies the power of God. It’s like you reject the true and living God who holds all powers for self to be a god with nothing but thoughts and paper. The fittest of the fittest will survive. That is a big fat lie. We need God to survive. God called to live our own lives. But not excluding him out. With God we have strength. He is our source.
By whom standards should we live by? How can egoism, a third degree of selfishness direct us to a self-fulfilling life? We need others to thrive and survive. We need others to build memories and moments. There is no hope of attaining the best in life in selfishness. Life is rooted love. I believe that’s why we all desire it so bad. We were created in love to reflect love. To share in the cares of God. What helps us to overcome trouble, is trust in God. Jesus overcame the world when he took the keys of death from the kingdom of Darkness. What’s the use of living for oneself, and when you die all that you have earned in life will be either wasted, destroyed or invested into someone else future? Live in the moment helping and giving to those in need and be a living letter of love from God.
Pride is never justification for any wrong. There is the entitlement to always be right when wrong. There is the entitlement to know it all even when ignorant. 1 Corinthians 8:2 “The person who thinks he “knows” something doesn’t yet know in the way he ought to know” A good reputation is more of a priority than integrity. It’s typical for us to hide behind the wall of pride to preserve image and reputation even at the expense of another man’s life. 1 Corinthians 8:1 “We all have knowledge.”…”knowledge” puffs a person up with pride; whereas love builds up.”
Apparently, political correctness has more power than truth. Isn’t that frightening? It is not right to falsely accuse your neighbor. Yet still, we do it and instead of discerning what should be laid at the altar, interceding. We partake in a bent and hypocritical mindset. How can we view this life as if it is based on what we only believe? If we believe that elephants can fly it is the truth. No! It’s a lie! Please do not believe it. This way of thinking stems from the statement whatever you believe to be moral is moral. No! We discover the truth. And the truth shall set us free. A dressed truth, adding to the truth or taking away from the truth is still a lie. I hope we don’t see this too late. Deception today is more rampant than it has ever been. This only fulfills the word of God that it is the last days. How would we know if we are not studying to show ourselves approved. I don’t want to live dangerously with God. It is better to fear the one who takes both the body and the soul. Yeeesss! God is still in control.
What’s more important is that we stay woke in Christ. How can we stand for love and have no love? If we have no love, we have nothing. A prideful person outward appearance is very puffed up, and their inner being is filled with chaos. Almost sounds bipolar. Hehe. But we are all guilty! Including myself (many sighs). The Bible encourages to walk in the Spirit and not after the flesh. So why do we continue to allow the flesh to win every time? If we are such Bible believers, why aren’t we changing the world
Let’s be humble. Let’s walk in the newness of life and in the Spirit and not after the flesh. Do the opposite of what the flesh desires. The Bible urges us to flee from youthful lust. The Bible also says we have control over sin. No man is without excuse. God has given us the power and authority to overcome pride through Christ. As we recognize what sin is, we understand that it is His strength that is made perfect in our weakness. Let us soar with God. Denounce pride!
